Mosaic, Richard Frankl
"Clerical error is typically one of the hugest headaches that any organization has in a finance department, because they tend to be high turn over positions anyway. So if you can eliminate that high turn over position that is subject to error with an automated solution that has rules built into it that will work every time then that’s the solution that you want to go with. I’d be hard pressed to find somebody that doesn’t like that idea."
"So, one of the biggest surprises was actually having happy users and people looking for, if you can use that term to doing their expense report because it actually sped up the process. Plus the fact that the user interface is that much easier to use and it’s more typical of what they are used to on a travel web site as well, the whole combination I think will make their experience that much better and faster and that’s really the whole thing is this is an admin function of preparing an expense report and you want people to focus on their jobs and not on preparing administrative tasks or reviewing administrative tasks and this is one step further to making it that much easier, shortening time."
"The Mosaic employees would tell you that they really like Concur. They are happy and eager to use it to get their expenses done. Overall I think that Concur is bringing efficiency to our organization as well as simplicity, yet with a very powerful tool in the background and everybody that has seen it or has used it, and that’s most of our full time employees, is very happy and satisfied with it."
"It certainly was helpful to us to come up with a product solution that was not an implementation with us having to host the software, buy the software, do the upgrades, maintain the software and integrate it into our IT environment like we have with all of our operating systems. So, having a product that basically takes care of itself, it grows, we don’t have to worry about the infrastructure that it sits on, is very helpful to us because we within our organization want less IT involvement in what we’re doing and more focus on having a process that works. And less reliance on maintenance fees as well for that matter, which typically there’s very little pay back for once you go live on the system."
"Back in 2006 when we went live on the expense side, we actually saved a half a head count in accounts payable. We were actually able to leverage and use them in payroll function because we’ve actually been a growing business. And so for us to have not had a change in head count now in almost three years is amazing in accounts payable, and it shows you that the scalability of the product and the work flow how it really helps."
"We use the reporting for many different things including trying to track down employee abuse of expenses so we’ve done it to monitor people, we done it to monitor just spend in general and look at where we’re spending heavy dollars, what airline we’re doing a lot of our traveling on. Also we try and look at what people are spending on their cell phone bills and so forth so we get, if we’ve got like positions and we see that person A is spending a hundred dollars a month of the cell phone and person B is spending a hundred seventy five dollars a month on the cell phone, we try to figure out why is that? Is somebody on a family plan and they just pushing the family plan through as well? So it’s given us a lot more visibility to our data than we had historically before and we actually couldn’t have even looked at it before without somebody sitting there with a pile of paper so clearly an eye opener and it also gives us an idea of where maybe we should be focusing on vendor negotiation."
